Asterisk - Footnote
They are used to indicate a footnote.*
You often see this in advertisements, where the footnote shows details of conditions and restrictions
that apply to the offer.
If you use one, make sure that there is a footnote.
If the footnote is missing, this is known as an ‘orphan asterisk’.
This often happens in advertisements, where the restrictions have been forgotten.

➢Yesterday was a really sh***ty day.
➢Some d*&! didn’t like me being in ‘his’ pub.
➢He called me an a** and told me to p*** off and go home.
They leave enough letters to make the vulgar word clear.
It doesn’t really make sense if the word if clear to the reader.
In this case, you might as well just write the word clearly.
